    DJANGO REINHARDT BIOGRAPHY
Gypsy Jazz is an idiom that was pioneered in the 1930s by legend Django Reinhardt. Born on January 23, 1910 in Liverchies, Belgium Reinhardt grew up in a gypsy camp outside of Paris. He first studied violin then proceeded to a banjo guitar. By 13, he was good enough to play in funky Parisien dance halls and in 1922 he began to work professionally. In 1928 a caravan fire mutilated the first two fingers of Reinhardt’s left hand.

Despite the limitation, Reinhardt rehabilited himself and developed a revolutionary two-finger technique. He combined a dark, chromatic gypsy flavor with the swing articulation of the period to create a truly beautiful and original style of jazz. In 1934 Reinhardt met violinist Stephane Grappelli with whom he founded the Quintet of Hot Club of France. The group achieved international acclaim within a year and Reinhardt quickly became Europe’s first crowned king of jazz, a fact that flustered a good many American players. He played with the Quintet until 1939 then experimented with big bands, formed a new quintet, toured in U.S.A, and recorded, occasionally with Grappelli. Django Reinhardt died from a stroke at 43, on May 16 , 1953 in Fontainebleau, France.

Gypsy Jazz is an idiom that was pioneered in the 1930s by guitar legend Django Reinhardt. Reinhardt combined a dark, chromatic gypsy flavor with the swing articulation of the period to create a truly beautiful and original style of jazz. In 1934, Reinhardt met violinist Stephane Grappelli with whom he founded the Quintet of Hot Club of France. The group achieved international acclaim within a year and Reinhardt quickly became Europe's first crowned king of jazz.

Meanwhile, “chanson” (French song), has been performed in cafes and music halls throughout the city of Paris. Lyrics are of central importance to “chanson” which can be rich in poetry, satire, drama and emotion.

Based on the combination of the European guitar legend Reinhardt's greatness, Gypsy Jazz which combines a dark chromatic gypsy flavor with the impact of American swing and be-bop on French music and “chanson” (French song) performed in cafes and music halls throughout the city of Paris, HOT FAB DJAZZ CLUB, created by the soulful voice and inimitable guitar expression of the passionate French native band leader Fabrice Vignati (vocals & guitar) and the high-seasoned, creative co-leader Tracy Vignati (vocals & clarinet) possessing a uniqueness of crystal clarity in her voice who also contributes tasty clarinet lines, expresses the beauty and elegance of a repertoire of French and American popular, original vocal songs and Gypsy Jazz instrumental music.

Gypsy Jazz, French & American music and HOT FAB DJAZZ CLUB are alive and will swing all over the world for the joy of all people.
